Lexmark C760
The reliable workgroup colour laser printer with outstanding print quality and performance.Outstanding Performance
The Lexmark C760 with a print speed of up to 23 pages per minute A4 for both colour and monochrome, and a 500 Mhz processor generates the first colour page in less than 15 seconds and 13 seconds for black. Users get their jobs in a hurry reducing or eliminating the wait at the printer.
Impressive Print Quality
To see fine details in your photos and business graphics, the Lexmark C760 has true 1200 x 1200 dpi. 4800 Color Quality (the default) produces high print quality.
Intelligent Color
Color Care Technology lets you make intelligent choices for use of colour in your business documents. With ColorSaver, you can save 50% on the colour toner by making colour images and graphics lighter while keeping black text dark, crisp and readable. For a specific workgroup, the Black and White Lock, a Setup Menu setting, prevents the use of colour toner by forcing all jobs to be printed using black toner only. Color Print Permissions allows an administrator to assign permission to a colour printer by user ID. For a specific user, a driver for the C760 supporting Black Only printing restricts the use of colour toner. Use colour when you want or when you need and control the cost of your business documents.
The Lexmark Coverage Estimator provides toner coverage percentages for each colour on a printed page to help you understand the estimated cost of printing in colour. It's probably lower than you think.

Q. Can I use the Lexmark C762 cartridges in my Lexmark C760?
A. Only the 6,000-page yield cartridges can be used in the Lexmark C760. The 15,000-page yield cartridges cannot be used.
Q. Are finishing options available for the Lexmark C760?
A. No. The available paper handling options for the C760 are a duplex unit, 500-Sheet Drawer and 500-Sheet Tray.
Q. Can I add the Lexmark X4500 MFP Option to the Lexmark C760 for additional functionality?
A. No, the Lexmark C760 does not support any MFP option.
Q. What is the Lexmark Coverage Estimator?
A. The Lexmark Coverage Estimator uses an algorithm to count the picture elements (pixels) in the composite page to estimate the percent coverage for each colour, cyan, magenta, yellow and black. When the Coverage Estimator has been turned ON from the printer's operator panel Utility Menu, the calculated estimate is printed directly on to the page itself as it is printed. This handy tool allows you to quickly and easily determine the amount of cyan, magenta, yellow and black toner used on a given page, even in complex photographs and images. Understanding the cost of the page is then just a matter of a few simple calculations. The communication of content in many black and white documents can be improved for a nominal increase in cost when colour is added. Of course, the Coverage Estimator is only an estimate of the coverage on a given page. For each toner colour that is used, the minimum percentage reported will be two percent and reported values may vary from one printer to another. The accuracy of the estimates may be affected by the fullness of the print cartridges, environmental conditions, media type, application, application settings, driver, driver settings, and the content of the page. Lexmark makes no claim as to the accuracy of the estimated percents.
Q. What happens when I use ColorSaver™ mode?
A. When ColorSaver is turned ON, text prints at a Toner Darkness setting of 4, while images and graphics print at a Toner Darkness setting of 1. This has the effect of making color images and graphics lighter while retaining dark crisp mono text. It preserves the readability of documents while saving 50% on color toner for images and graphics even if text, graphics, and images are all on one page.
Q. How does auto mode for Color Correction work?
A. Auto mode for Color Correction is ON when you receive your printer (default setting). Color Correction automatically selects the best colour correction mode from vivid, display or CMYK, based on the contents of the page you have sent to the printer. Auto mode is object, rather than page, oriented. So, it recognizes object types such as fill, text or image, and looks at how colour was specified for that object, whether by RGB (red, green, blue); CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black); gray, etc. It then applies the most appropriate colour correction for that object.
Q. What are Black and White Lock, and Color Print Permissions?
A. Black and White Lock is a setting in the Setup Menu that prevents color printing on that printer. All print jobs are completed using the black toner only. When this mode is enabled, it cannot be overridden by any other menu, driver, or application setting. This function simulates removing the color cartridges and running the printer with only the black cartridge installed. Color Print Permissions allows an administrator to assign permission to a color printer by user ID.
